PADC is joining with Pennsylvania Defense Institute to present on March 4, 2025 “Stepping Up and Standing Out – Branding Your Legal Career.” This will be a tremendous program useful to all but especially great for younger lawyers. 25.02.17 YL ProjectLITIGATE Flyer (CST Rev 4) 4902-8239-6188 1 While the attached flyer has lots of information, there is more you should know:
The seminar dovetails with oral arguments being held by the PA Supreme Court in Philadelphia. One of the cases being argued on March 4th, Tranter v. Z&D Tour, Inc., is crucial to the defense as it could determine whether the forum non conveniens doctrine has any vitality or meaning in Pennsylvania. That argument will take place at 1:00 pm. The Supreme Court is making provisions for seminar attendees to attend the oral argument. As the room has limited capacity, we will provide a supplemental registration process for seminar attendees who want to attend. The Supreme Court will also make streaming audio of the argument available.
Our program will begin at 2:30 pm and will run until 6:00 pm. Drinks and hors d’oeuvres will follow. 3 substantive CLE credits will be provided. Written materials will also be made available.
At least one of the lawyers who will argue the defense case in Tranter v. Z&D Tour, Inc. will speak during the seminar as part of the session devoted to the Tranter oral argument, how appellate arguments are prepared, and how younger lawyers can become the ones to argue such a case.
Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice Christine Donohue will also join us and will speak to the group, specifically about Project LITIGATE. This Pennsylvania state-wide initiative aims to get young lawyers trial and oral argument time.
Marketing consultant and executive coach Dorothy Potash and former Chair of the ABA Young Lawyers Division will discuss the habits and practices that lead to business generation.
The seminar will be in-person but will also be available by live stream. Audio of the PA Supreme Court’s oral arguments will also be available for those interested that cannot attend in person.
Non-members of PADC and PDI who register and have been practicing less than ten years will receive complimentary memberships in both organizations through the end of 2025.
