The Award is given to honor “A person who best understands the times in which we now live, that diversity of race, ethnicity, religion, thought, perspective, gender and experience make us all collectively better, and that it is our differences that allow us to uniquely and better serve our communities.”

The Association provides for four classes of membership: Regular, Young Lawyer, Privileged, and Government. Membership is limited to individuals and cannot be vested in firms or partnerships. Applicants must be sponsored by two Regular Members.
